| Objective: | Delegates will gain a comprehensive understanding of the system, sufficent to implement and/or use the system in a structured, efficient and cost effective way. |
| Overview: | To be able to fully implement the system in a structured, efficient and cost effective way. The delegate will be taught to create assets, job descriptions, planned maintenance schedules, generate weekly job sheets, control work, raise additional corrective and breakdown jobs, sign off completed work, create a part register and issue parts to work orders. The course also contains a comprehensive management reporting section and essential control functions such as security and data backup. |
| Audience: | Suitable for anyone who needs a complete understanding of the capabilities
of Pirana or for those who intend to implement and control the system. e.g. maintenance managers, engineering supervisors, admin staff, stock controllers. |
| Prerequisites: | Familiarity with the concepts and use of Web based systems, reasonable keyboard and mouse skills. No previous knowledge of CMMS or Stock systems is required for this course. |
Detailed Content:
Introduction & Navigation
A brief overview of the system’s functions and processes supported, coupled with some basic browser navigational hints and tips.
Search & Selection
Locating assets and using the asset record to locate planned, current and completed work details
Adding Assets
The creation of asset records. Discussion of numbering systems and grouping structures. The addition of attributes, parts lists, readings and documents as they pertain to the asset structure. This section also covers the copying and cloning of assets to speed data entry.
Lookups
The set-up and maintenance of lookups (drop down help files) to increase speed of data entry and ensure data integrity. This section is primarily for those who will initially set up the system.
Clients and Locations
Creating a location hierarchy for use throughout the system.
Contacts
Creating a list of contacts which are used throughout the system. This topic covers: maintenance staff, contractors, suppliers and other staff who may wish to request work to be performed. This section also covers adding users to the system and password control.
Tasks
Setting up task details. Estimating job time, allocation of work, taking readings and the production of parts kits.
Work Scheduler
Combining tasks with assets to form maintenance plans. Amending plans and the use of group scheduling. This section also introduces the concept of the interactive planner, generating work and printing out work orders.
Adding Work Orders
Searching for open and closed work orders and requests. Adding new corrective work orders, allocating and scheduling work. Printing work orders and updating originators of progress.
Work Requester
Using the work requester to send new work requests to engineering. Searching for existing requests and checking their status. This section is primarily for staff who will have little day to day contact with the system.
Signiong Off Work
Closing planned / corrective work orders and requests. Adding analytical details such as downtime, labour hours, parts costs, and breakdown information.
The Dashboard
Configuring the dashboard with your personal preferences. Drilling down from the tables and charts for more information, and taking action as necessary.
Parts
Adding new stock items, creating bin locations, discussion of numbering systems and grouping structures. Day to day operations such as issuing, returning, receiving and adjusting stock items.
Document Manager
Adding new documents to the register. Viewing and updating documents, managing the register.
System Settings
For key users: The configuration of the system, Screen layouts
Scheduling rules, e-mail set-up.
Reports
Running standard reports, selecting, sorting and printing.
