FrontLine Financial Management

An invaluable addition to the FrontLine suite for anyone who wishes to track Budgets, manage Projects or calculate Asset Depreciation

Overview

The FrontLine Financial module is really three programs in one:

• Budget Control
• Project Management
• Asset Depreciation

Each area is designed to operate independently whilst sharing common information with its sister modules. This realises Shire's key design goals of flexibility and easy set-up.

Budget Control

Budgets are ideal for day-to-day planning. They can be set to run for a period of one month up to a maximum of thirteen months.

Once active, the budget will automatically collect expenditure details (Labour, Parts, Purchase and Other costs) from the FrontLine Maintenance, Stock, Purchasing and Helpdesk modules. You can also manually make adjustments at any time.

Within the budget, funds can be allocated to one of two levels. The higher (or main budget) known as 'Cost Centre', and the lower (or sub budget) know as 'Cost Code'. Naturally the system allows you to report planned against actual at either level or both.

Project Management

Projects are more suited to capital expenditure. They can be set up for any time period from a day upwards.

Like budgets they automatically collect expenditure details from other FrontLine systems, but unlike budgets entries can be posted outside the date range of the project allowing for over-runs to be successfully accounted.

Once again the project module is a two level hierarchy consisting of the higher level 'Project' and a sub project known as 'Item'. A range of reports lets you report planned against actual at either level or both.

Asset Depreciation

Simplicity is the strong point of the Asset Depreciation system. Tell it the Purchase Price, Date and the Time Period you wish to depreciate your asset over, and FrontLine does the rest.

You can check the Initial, Current and Residual values on line along with the months planned depreciation. If you prefer a printed copy reports are available at various levels of detail.
