This information is intended as a reasonable guideline only. The actual hardware requirement necessary to attain satisfactory performance is influenced by many external factors, such as other applications running on the same infrastructure.

Hardware Specification

The performance of the system will be affected by the specification of the computer on which it is operated.

The software may function on a computer with a slightly lower specification than those recommended. However, it is likely that performance will be impaired. For a workstation on which the software will be heavily used, it is advisable to use a higher specification computer than the recommended minimum.

NOTE The minimum recommended hardware requirements for running Shire software are different for the Client, Server and a stand alone Client and Server deployment.

Local Area Network Usage

Disk Space Requirement

The disk space required for the database will depend largely on the volume of data in the system and so will be governed by your usage of the system. Our recommended minimum allowances are typical requirements.
